Who is the accrediting body?

All NCEF courses and modules are accredited by the University of Limerick (UL).

  • 15 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits towards the Higher Certificate/ Diploma/B.Sc. in Exercise & Health Fitness through a flexible learning pathway and also towards other University qualifications in Europe who follow ECTS credit value system.
  • Europe Active Level 5 Exercise Specialist Module
  • Successful students will receive an NCEF Certificate of Completion

How much does it cost?

The fee for the Fit for Life specialist module is €1,195 Payment Option 1 Full fee payment of €1,195 (inclusive of non-refundable deposit of €595) on submission of acceptance documents to the NCEF Head Office. Payment Option 2 €595 non-refundable deposit due on submission of acceptance documents to the NCEF Head Office. Balance of €600 due to the NCEF Head Office 3 weeks prior to module commencement. Please note that once students are registered, all fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are completing this module as part of an overall programme e.g. Higher Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness, the cost of this module is included in the full HCEHF Year 2 programme fees.

What am I qualified to do?

The Fit for Life Wellness Specialist is qualified to present/facilitate lifestyle management/wellness coaching courses in community or corporate company settings. These courses/presentations cover a number of topics including:

  • Back Care
  • Bone Health
  • Healthy Eating
  • Weight Management
  • Stress Management
The overall aim is to educate attendees on how they can make changes to improve their overall lifestyle.

Entry Requirements

Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF) NFQ Level 6

OR NCEF/PEAI Level 1 National Certificate in Fitness & Exercise Instruction - Current and Recertified You must also hold a PHECC First Aid Responder (formerly Occupational First Aid) qualification. If you hold another health/fitness qualification and relevant work experience in the fitness industry, we ask you to complete an RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application form which is a common route of entry onto NCEF courses. Please click here to apply through RPL A cost of €125 applies to ALL RPL applicants on application, however if you are successful and offered a place on your chosen course, this fee is then deducted from the cost of overall programme fees.

When and where can I do this course?

All content, including lectures, handouts, progress assessments, videos, resource links etc. will be delivered and accessed through a specially developed online e-learning hub. This will enable you to further your studies at home, abroad and anywhere you have access to an internet connection.

This e-learning hub will contain tutorials on all the theoretical aspects along with short electronic self-assessments which will allow students to gauge their progress as they work through the module.

Start dates are as follows:

Autumn 2021: Commences Monday 6th September 2021, Finishes Mid-December 2021

Spring 2022: Commences Monday 10th January 2022, Finishes Mid-April 2022
