Who is the accrediting body?

All NCEF courses and modules are accredited by the University of Limerick (UL).

  • University of Limerick Accredited
  • 15 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits towards the Higher Certificate/ Diploma/B.Sc. in Exercise & Health Fitness through a flexible learning pathway.
  • ECTS credits can be used towards the NCEF Higher Certificate / Diploma / B.Sc. in Exercise & Health Fitness through a flexible learning pathway and also towards other University qualifications in Europe who follow ECTS credit value system.
  • Europe Active Level 5 Exercise Specialist Module
  • Successful students will receive an NCEF Certificate of Completion

How much does it cost?

The fee for the Facility Operations specialist module is €1,195 Payment Option 1 Full fee payment of €1,195 (inclusive of non-refundable deposit of €595) on submission of acceptance documents to the NCEF Head Office. Payment Option 2 €595 non-refundable deposit due on submission of acceptance documents to the NCEF Head Office. Balance of €600 due to the NCEF Head Office 3 weeks prior to module commencement. Please note that once students are registered, all fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are completing this module as part of an overall programme e.g. Higher Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness, the cost of this module is included in the full HCEHF Year 2 programme fees..

What am I qualified to do?

The Facility Operations module will give you the skills, knowledge and competencies to operate a professional and successful business in the fitness industry or work in a supervisory/management role in a gym/leisure facility. It will also provide you with extensive knowledge in running your own freelance business.

Entry Requirements

Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF) NFQ Level 6 OR NCEF/PEAI Level 1 National Certificate in Fitness & Exercise Instruction - Current and Recertified You must also hold a PHECC First Aid Response qualification. If you hold another health/fitness qualification and relevant work experience in the fitness industry , we ask you to complete an RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application form which is a common route of entry onto NCEF courses. Please click here to apply through RPL A cost of €125 applies to ALL RPL applicants on application, however if you are successful and offered a place on your chosen course, this fee is then deducted from the cost of overall programme fees.

When and where can I do this course?

All content, including lectures, progress assessments, videos, resource materials etc. will be delivered and accessed through the University of Limerick learning management system, Sulis, which is a specially developed online e-learning platform. This will enable you to further your studies at home, abroad and anywhere you have access to an internet connection.

Sulis integrates a large number of tools to facilitate and manage teaching, assessment, feedback, collaboration and communication with and between students.

Start dates are as follows: Spring 2022: Commences Monday 24th January 2022, Finishes Mid-April 2022 Summer 2022: Commences Tuesday, 3rd May 2022, Finishes August 2022 Autumn 2022: Commences Monday 5th September 2022, Finishes Mid-December 2022
